ELECEED Anime Sets April 2027 Premiere
Popular Webtoon Adaptation Gets a Spring 2027 Release Window
Fans of ELECEED finally have a premiere window to look forward to.
The upcoming anime adaptation of the popular action webtoon will officially begin broadcasting in April 2027, according to the anime's official website. The announcement also arrived with a new English version of the promotional trailer, giving international fans another look at the highly anticipated adaptation.
The series had previously been announced for an earlier release window, making the April announcement the first time the production has narrowed its 2027 premiere down to a specific month.
From Webtoon Hit to Anime
ELECEED is based on the popular webtoon created by SJH and ZHENA, which began serialization in 2018.
The story takes place in a modern world where people known as Awakened possess extraordinary abilities and operate largely in secret.
At the center of the story is Jiwoo, a kindhearted young man who has spent his life hiding his abilities. He has incredibly fast reflexes and uses his powers to quietly help people and animals.
His life changes after he rescues an injured stray cat.
That cat turns out to be Kayden, one of the most powerful Awakened in the world, who has become trapped in the body of a cat.
The unlikely pair soon find themselves caught up in battles, powerful organizations and conspiracies surrounding the mysterious world of the Awakened.
Crunchyroll Will Stream the Anime
International fans will be able to watch ELECEED through Crunchyroll when the anime premieres.
The newly released English trailer also gives viewers a better introduction to Jiwoo and Kayden ahead of the television debut.
An exact premiere date in April has not yet been announced.
Main Cast Revealed
The anime has already revealed several members of its voice cast.
Junya Enoki will voice the protagonist Yu Kazahaya, known as Jiwoo Seo in the English-language WEBTOON release.
The announced cast also includes:
Junya Enoki — Yu Kazahaya / Jiwoo Seo
Tasuku Hatanaka — Jin Tatsuoka
Setsuji Sato — Dr. Delein
Hayato Dojima — Sota Yanagi
Shizuka Ito — Amane Yanagi
One major mystery remains: the voice actor for Kayden has not yet been revealed.
Considering Kayden's importance to the story, his casting announcement will likely be one of the next major pieces of ELECEED news fans will be watching for.
A Strong Production Team
ELECEED is being directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori at DandeLion Animation Studio, the studio associated with THE FIRST SLAM DUNK.
The production team also includes Yousuke Kuroda, who is handling series composition and scripts, and Minami Sakura, who serves as character designer.
One of WEBTOON's Biggest Action Hits
ELECEED has become a major international webtoon success.
The official anime website states that the series had surpassed 1.75 billion total views as of May 2026, highlighting just how large its worldwide audience has become. The series has also been released across multiple languages.
That existing fanbase gives the anime adaptation plenty of momentum heading into 2027.
When Does ELECEED Come Out?
The ELECEED anime premieres in April 2027.
For now, the production has not announced the exact premiere date, episode count or full streaming schedule.
With an English trailer now available and Crunchyroll set to stream the series, international fans won't have to wait much longer to see Jiwoo and Kayden make the jump from webtoon pages to the screen.
